Scallions

I just plucked half a pound of scallions from the balcony. One of them was HUGE... well, huge for a scallion, at least. James caught this picture of me with my prize scallion.

The scallions were promptly chopped and put into another recipe for tomato sauce from Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barabara Kingsolver. It's a good book for reading with some great seasonal and canning recipes. We did her "Family Secret Tomato Sauce" and used scallions in place of onions.
